Pioneer DEH-7200HD Won't Play Ipod

My Pioneer DEH-7200HD head unit will no longer play my iPod. It worked perfectly fine last week, now I get in and Plug n Play with the usb to the iPod and it won't play. The headunit finds the ipod, pulls up all the songs but no sound and no progress on the play progress bar. When I fast forward to a spot in the middle of the song it won't play either. I can skip between tracks, change the volume etc. but no sound.

CD's and tuner both work fine.

Any thoughts?

Did you power up your receiver before plugging in the iPod? I saw in another thread that the same problem (no audio) occurred with an iPhone before Bluetooth was enabled. Maybe this is similar.

try a new cable. sounds like a short.
