Pioneer avh-x8500bhs remote wire issue

Hello all! Brand new member to these forums so please be gentle. I have tried to find this answer before I posted and look like an DA. I have just recently acquired a pioneer avh-x8500bhs. I am replacing my avh-x3600bhs. I have had zero issues with the 3600 as far as everything working correctly. When I connect the 8500 it seems the remote wire from deck to amp is intermittent. I've never had this problem with the 3600. With the 8500 connected I can check to make sure there is power from the remote wire but I turn power of and connect the remote back to the amp there is nothing, my amp will not turn on all the time, it only turns on sometimes. The 3600 never does this. I'm a little baffled. Is there something internally on the 8500 that could cause this? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
