Can I live?
I came across a great deal on a 12" Pioneer 5000spl the other day, and have since been searching the web for info in these. I found a bunch of tests on them, but no real reviews on thier daily perfomance. I know these are beasts on the comp scene, and I have seen them put up outrageous numbers on a mic so I know they can get loud...................................................... My question is this... Would these beasts be able to take a daily beating with the 2Krms though? Most spl subs are "capable" daily subs (ie.. MT, BTL, CSX), but would this particular brand be able to excel and live in a daily setup?

I had plans on doing a 2.8cuft@34hz enclosure for the sub, powered by my AP3000D. Anybody have any experience with this sub in a daily setup, that wants to share their views?

It needs a recone:(. Wanna trade me for your 15? I'll buy the recone and have it shipped to you:D
How did you manage that?//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif

srry i like the 15 too much:)..wat did u do wit urs?
I traded it for the 12. My initial plans were to do a 4th order, and the 15 was a little big for that.

The spider just seems to have gotten weak. It plays fine until I turn it up, and the it sounds like its bottoming out:crying:

Thank you for your off topic post. I'm sure that took you some time to compose. I like you, you're funny
If his accusation is valid and you owe someone money from an unfinished transaction, its never off topic to say so in any thread you make. Let alone a thread where you talk about a recent purchase. Im sure if someone owed you money, you wouldn't hesitate to remind them every chance you got. I also couldn't help noticing you didn't say he was wrong. Id suggest you settle this dispute unless you want to be perceived as a scammer.

I've argued with this guy in the actual thread that I made about this transaction. I haven't nor will I ever do anyone wrong. I have enough feedback and transaction here and other places to back up my being a great buyer/seller/trader. I chose not to even respond to any of his accusations because, (1. Ekimdude is a troll who has 200+ posts, but only one thread, making him another Kovemaster wannabe. He always finds his way into situations just to start a mess and then disappears into the night. (2. I have had almost every imaginable scenario happen since I've been making transactions online (positive and negetive), and still have flawless feedback. (3. The guy that my dispute is with has lied and been very untrustworthy with almost every transaction he's made on these boards, proving that his word means squat.

Is it true? NO.

I understand your point, but sometimes its best not to feed into peoples words, as nothing good really ever comes out of it. I could yell and threaten, and be the E-thug that alot of guys on here seem to be, but that would prove what? I'm not here for anyones amusement, I'm on here to learn and to enjoy the hobby.

Those all sound like reasonable points. Im just saying, as a bystander who did not witness the original conflict, at least stating its false when the accusation arises, and perhaps a brief reasoning, looks better than appearing to side-step it.
Im glad you took my comments in the constructive manner in which they were intended.

From the T/S specs, it's nothing like the lesser Pioneers. This sub has 3x the BL, 3x the power handling, and 1/2 the Qts. Meaning, throw it in ported, tune fairly low, and treat it like a BTL or HDC3. It'll take 2kw daily, unless the previous owner abused it.

Pioneer spec is 2.0 cf @ 42 Hz, and that seems about right for daily. Wouldn't tune any lower, unless you increase the box IV... then you start getting into nasty box land. Stick with spec on this.

I know you meant well, so I took no offense to your statement. If you haven't read the thread, you should. There's one in the feedback section, and also one in the classifieds about this.

At first you said to tune fairly low, but then you stated to tune around 42hz. My thoughts were to make it 2.5-2.9 and tune about 33hz. The fs is 32. I'll just aero port it and play with the tuning, but the size has me a little baffled:confused:

These are awesome subs for daily as well as competeing. They like smaller enclousers.
How small? Have you heard a daily one, and if so, what was the box size and tuning?
