Hello big question for my second post:wow:
I have a non lux 15229287 delphi unit TNR navigation head for my 2004 GMC 2500hd
The install is easy and I have had this unit in and out of two 2500s.
My Problem is that the AMP is clasified as a dumb amp (bose non Lux) and it amplifies whatever is put in to it.
The warning chime and the nav voice is activated via a class 2 serial data line into the radio head which then sends out a signal to the amp. the Amp simply amplifies it.
It is so loud at the speaker I took the unit out.
Can anyone come up with any of the following?
A method of lowering the head unit output? either external or internal?
I was thinking of trying to inturupt the speaker wires externally and installing somesort of resistive device to stop this preamplification to the amp, but would need to know the speaker pin outs on this head unit.
or someway of stopping the chime all together?
It is sad to see this unit yet again sitting on the bench:crying:
Thanks
RR
