PICS! REdestroyer 18, stainless steel port, mean machine

none taken.
it's stainless steel, not galvanized, you cant bend it with your hands if you grab it. you cant even move it at all. you can place it on it's side and stand on it.

it does look kinda weak from the pics.

no flex though.
I could make em,and in one piece:graduate: ,yeah its nice to have full access to a complete fab shop, punch, press brake ,machine shop etc.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/naughty.gif.94359f346c0f1259df8038d60b41863e.gif

Just alil hint for ya if your trying for SPL....and seeing that you tuned to ~48hz, you prolly are:
Try sub and port up....sub on passenger side, port on drivers //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
one more tip, if the resonant freq of the truck is 48, try tuning it around 40.

and seeing how they're removable, get a meter and try a bunch of diff tunings //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

You spend all that money on Dynamat (or similar) to stop rattling and then you add a metal port to the box. Genius!
it's actually not dynamat, it's home audio acoustical deadener, it's got a 2oz sheet of lead, a neoprene matt, and a sheet of aluminum on top.

it stops alpha waves from leaving, my truck never rattled after i filled the doors with foam.

the port doesn't rattle at all, like i was saying, it's solid, you cant move it.

yeah, i just threw it in there yesterday, this sub actually belongs to phattonydemarco, i am waiting for mmatts to finish reconing my MT18 (mmatts is local)

once i get the actual perminent speaker, i am going to find me a meter and will flip that box in every orientation possible to get the most out of it.

oh sweet it is.

how could you make it in one piece? cast it?

i soldered those 4 corner tabs to make it stronger.

What sactioning are you planning on competing in? Filled your doors with foam = extreme class.
the foam is removable.

but street B is what i want to compete in.

below window line, under 250square inches of cone area.

i dont think anyone will be pulling my door panels off to check. it says you can have deadening material, i didn't see anything about foam?

i was looking into iasca. correct me if i am wrong.

made a new port for 28hz this week, going to install it on monday.

moved the box so it's sub up, port up, seems louder, is alot cleaner, and now i can put my seat back without worry of hitting the sub.

i kept hearing the voice coil scratching out becuase the box would slide forward into the seat and offset the cone.

i thought i killed the destroyer at least 5 times.

new pics of new port out of box later.
