PICS***One 1242d, 7.8ft@37hz/88in^2=INSANE, phenomanal sound quality and very loud

I decided to stick the one R in my box for 3 just to see how it sounded. I used the peices that were cutout to plugthe other sub cutouts with a towel in each to seal(worked quite well although i had to hit them inwith a hammer and it probably split my baffle a little) I have it powered with my PA 3000D@2ohms and it is far louderthan my friends 2 r's in 2.5each@35hz and the sound quality with rock is crazy tight in the 60hz range. I have the subsonic filter set alittle high because the huge box really cuts down on the low note power handling but lil jon and young jeezy still pound like no other. I really reccomend a box larger than the current trend of 2-2.5 for the R's. I think around 3ft is optimum for the R's and I will only be putting one more in my box instead of the 3 as i had planned, it will be louder that way anyways.

Ive had 2 in 1.75 each with 15 in^2 port each

2 in 1 each sealed

1 in 2.1 ft @34hz w/38in^2 port

1 12w7 in 1.75ft @ 32hz w/ 24in^2 port

And friends had

2 05 15" L7's in 6ft tuned to 38 hz with an orion 2500d on stock electrical

2 Type R's in 2.5@35hz with 35in port area

And this current setup slaughters all but the L7's which have a slight low note edge but they sound like ***.

On the L7 15"s you mentioned, was that 6 ft per sub, or 6 ft all together? My 2 12" L7s are in 6 ft together..

I have one 12" Type R in 7.8 cubes yes, and it sounds very nice and its extremely loud. It is very tight and punchy bass and it certainly doesnt sound like its in "way too big" of a box. I would have thought it woud sound like crap but it is amazing. Try it. The L7's are yes sadly in 6ft total we are in the progress of making him a new box he now has a Jeep and the 6ft box was made for a Chrysler LHS.

As far as what Im reccomending, I dont know until i stick another one in there to see how 3.9 each sounds. Tomorrow i will find out how many watts this thing is actually handling before i hear any distortion. Im sure its not as much as people are sending them in 2-2.5ft boxes but if its just as loud with less power whats the difference?

Yes I know what SQ is. I have had a w7 and a 500/1 in 1.3 sealed and the JL spec ported box. Ive never owned kickers, that is my friends setup. I know this setup sounds like it would just sound like complete crap but it is truly amazing. It truly pisses me off when a kid has a system and thinks it sounds good and i check the amp and the low pass filter is off, and the gain is maxed out, and the HU sub level is maxed out. I know what sounds decent and what doesnt and this R in 7.8@37hz w/88in of port area really does sound good, try it sometime. Im pretty sure the TCABS are 3+ft per 12.
