The facts are that everything doesn't just work with them. They only have the automatic networking ability. It's possible for Windows too. Microsoft is even dabbling into it with Vista. It hasn't gotten as automated as the Mac's yet, but that's because Windows users have a clue as to how to set their computers up. There is no need for a bunch of macros.

As for the virus protection? That is a common misconception of Mac. They don't really offer virus protection other than their proprietary software system. Windows has tons of applications because Microsoft allows third party developers to write software. There are some people who write malicious code as well. You'd have to take the good with the bad. Apple's approach is to not allow any third party software, preventing viruses and making a bit of money on the side. People thinking that their Mac's are insusceptible to viruses are fools in their own right.

MacOSX has had more security flaws and warnings than Vista or XP have, just check out Secunia.

It would run, but not optimally, just keep XP on it.

I just put 7 beta on a old dlel laptop with a 1.5gig celeron and 1 gig of ram and its running better than XP did

Win 7 kicks ***!! I have it on my laptop and it runs great. Definitely some things that need to be fixed before the release, but it should be even better at release, and that means it will be sweet.

I have yet to see any problems, what have you had?

only prob I had was linksys wasnt realeasing drivers for beta, so I had to use a driver for the OEM manufactuer, no problem though
