Just to prove you wrong on another point, I just did a fresh install of Vista 64 on a VM and guess what, uses 10.8 gigs, well under 15. Wanna try and get something right since you have yet to this thread.

you are failing to take into account the installation files which require 15 gigs of free space, reguardless your drivespace screenshot is hardley a reliable source...

i see you wish to believe what you are predisposed to believe so here... educate yourself...

And RAM has what to do with hard drive space? Please tell me you aren't one of those idiots who confuses memory and hard drive space.

Who said this? now you just arent following the arguement

that article says that the installation files require 15g of memory

right now with only this browser (IE) window up i'm using 1.87 GB of memory

On my mac while on safari and at the same time converting a DVD VOB into a DV file, and converting a DV file to MPEG, AND editing a MPEG file in FCP my mac only said it used 1.54 This is with the windows XP virtual machine running.

On my machine. Firefox is actually using more resources that IE7 by about 5K.
What is this nerd argument about anyways? I want in.
Safari is WAY faster than both

It's basically a classic MAC vs. PC argument.

Its like one of those things take a

small - mid grade PC anything it can do mac can do better but for a higher cost.

Take A high-grade PC and a Maxed out mac Pro will probably spank anything that falls in the price range.

With TWO Quad-Core Intel Xeon processors 3.2GHz each

32GB 800MHz DDR2 ECC fully buffered memory

4TB of disk space

NVIDIA Quadro FX 5600 with 1.5GB of GDDR3 memory

There is virtually NO application or even PAIR or group of applications that that computer could not run with lightning speed.

Lol at running Leopard on 512 mb of ram. Run it on 512 mb with some other software installed on it, and run a few programs. I highly HIGHLY doubt you'll have a smooth experience. Yeah, it can boot up and run on 512, but it's slow as balls and you can't run many things simultaneously and smoothly.

Plus macs are overpriced nuthugging machines. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif

My arguement is that they are the same machines since Apple decided to save costs and use a non-proprietary Intel processor. This guy just doesn't get it.
Bahaahahahahm. Just because they share the same resources in no way does that make them the same machine. The osx uses system resources more efficiently, the app also use the resources better, not to mention with every executable file you run in pc you take a chance at wiping out yoyr entire registry. In 2 years of regular use on a mac I have yet to see the first virus... nor have I had to run a defrag or clean up on amac.

My mac stays running and converting files 24 7. My mac hasn't been powered down since the system upgrade 3 months ago. Btw the pc virtual machine has crashed in the middle of something important at least

10 times . The statement mac and pc are the same machine clearly shows you have no clue wTF ur talking about

Are you fucking serious? In no way does OSX use system resources more efficiently than Windows. You don't even close applications (documents) They stay running in the background until you force close them. Every Mac that I have worked with has crashed several times. I've also had to clean viruses on a customer's Mac computer. My Dell running Windows Vista has never crashed nor caught a virus. Your point is moot. Every .exe can wipe out your registry? New to me. Create a backup and you wont have that problem. Virtual Machine always crashes as it is doing something the computer is not built to do. The fact that you don't recognize that you just bought the same hardware that you can get in a regular PC shows that you are the most ignorant Mac fanboy alive.

Oy, I've been working with some Mac computers adding them to the domain and shit at the school. I can't stand them. Proprietary money grubbing bastards is all they are. They most definitely are not faster than a windows based machine either. It may be that there just old installs I dunno but every time i went to try and open a program it would freeze then finally open 15 seconds later. I'm not familiar at all with Macs but just from what I used today I don't care for them one bit.
