Pics of P880prs in action?

Well I never had an 860, but as far as loading time on the 880prs...lol...yea right. This thing is the fastest loading fastest reading deck I have ever come across, MP3, WMA or CD. Hope that helps someone somewhere....
I dunno about fastest loading...

My eclipse loads CD's incredibly fast, it literally sucks the CD in.

Yea when I was referring to loading it wasn't CD loading I had in mind, more like the MP3 or WMA file being loaded into memory to be played. As far as ******* up CD's I imagine it's nothing special.

Well, a week into owning my 880PRS, I would have to say there are only a couple tiny things I would change if I could. One is that while it's readable in direct sunlight, it takes on a monochrome look that isn't all that flattering. At night it's a jewel though. Another is that I wish the song titles could just scroll smoothly, with all the fancy animations, there's no reason it has to move over digit by digit. That's really all though, the performance is everything I could ask for and a lot more. This is the kind of deck that does it's job so good you end up keeping it forever, even when you eventually pickup a new one //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Could you elaborate on how the two units compare? I'm thinking of doing the same switch. Did you use either in network mode? Looks, mp3 loading time, etc. Thanks.

Jazn, it will be a little while before I get the 880 in and get it fine tuned. I have to do some mechanical work on my truck before I bother putting the new setup in.

I never used the 860 in network mode, but Ill let you know what other differences I come across.

As far as looks (bearing in mind this is just physical looks, havent seen the display on the 880 yet), the 880 looks much more streamlined. Theres fewer buttons, and the buttons are more flush with the face.

I like it much better. You may not, depending on your personal tastes.

Alphakenny, are you referring to time alignment? If so, yes it does have that.

Real time ?
meaning that when changing xover pts/slopes and peq, you can actually here the change right there when you change it and also being able to up the volume in the PEQ, xover menus. the alpine you cannot do this, you must go back to the main menu and then it'll be able to hear the change. then if you don't like it, you gotta back to eq/xover menu and then change whatever you want and then again go back to the main menu to actually hear the change.

Yes absolutely everything is real time, phase, slope crossovers, time alignment, it's all real time and FAST, no wait whatsoever just a less than 1 sec pause. Also since it has a seperate volume knob you can adjust the volume no matter what you are tuning, these are the small changes you will find when you buy Premier Reference Series.
