Well here is my 2 cents worth. I love the way Alpines look, love the sq of the Kenwood Excelons ( have one myself) but that pioneer looks sweet!! Very nice HU. I would love to hear how that sounds on some good equipment.

I bought mine from an authorized dealer, because I did not want to chance it. But in an early thread about the P880PRS this was mentioned by someone. To me saving 100 bucks was not worth it.

When I open my box and seen the rca's unattatched to the HU. It was like wtf. That p880prs doesn't have the color screen? Also can anyone tell me what the diffrence is between the DEH8600mp and the P880prs? My 8600mp looks identical and seems to have all the same features. But yea they are some sexxy HU's.

Also can anyone tell me what the diffrence is between the DEH8600mp and the P880prs? My 8600mp looks identical and seems to have all the same features. But yea they are some sexxy HU's.

I owned an 860, just went to the 880.

Couple of differences- dual 16 band eq's, the ability to turn off the internal amp. Im sure theres more, but those are the first two that come to mind.

i'm sure on pioneers website you can compare the 2 units and see the differences for yourself.

wow, we can finally turn off the amp....wow...that's friggen awesome

the 860 has the detachable rca as well as a couple other previous models, comes in handy if you don't have your rca's labled and need to remove the head unit a couple times for any reason, one plug versus a possible six....

Well I never had an 860, but as far as loading time on the 880prs...lol...yea right. This thing is the fastest loading fastest reading deck I have ever come across, MP3, WMA or CD. Hope that helps someone somewhere....
