Good question, I have honestly never paid very close attention to the movement of the woofers, but I will say that just in glancing at them they did not seem to move erratically. In regards to your situation, I can only think of one reason that may have caused the problems with your woofers. Was the enclosure extremely close to the tailgate of the vehicle?? I ask this because (I'm no physics major, just hypothesizing here) from my standpoint if the enclosure was too close to the tailgate then the enclosure may not be able to vent the air/pressure properly and the air/pressure may have actually re-entered the enclosure causing the woofers to not function properly. Someone with a better understanding of physics should chime in and provide a better explanation of this situation?Just curious, have you noticed any of the subs moving more than some of the others? The reason I ask is, that I had some problems with multiple subs in a common box that had the port facing the same direction as yours. (in relation to subs)
About how long does the port extend into the box?
As far as my port is concerned, I will have to look at my design when I get to work tomorrow to tell you the appropriate port length.
