*PICS* 6.6 cuft 33hz 140sq.in. of port for (2) 15's getting 3300rms

Anyone have any more input on this Im about to make the cuts?
I really dont think it will make a big difference. I have my box for my 15 at 4.5 cubes with 115 sq inches of port and for daily driving i enjoy it. I doubt 40 extra sq inches will be a big deal

LOL, I should have never posted the sub in above pics. That sub isnt going to be used in this setup, it's just there as a reference 15, but it's a prototype for Atomic/American bass. It has 4" voicecoil with a super strong motor and takes 4krms, also weighs like 70+lbs.
Anyways back to topic...

Tommy if i reduce the port area to 100sq.in. that would mean making the port narrower to 6" instead of 8" which would also effect tuning and make it at 28hz which is way to low I want to stay at 33-34hz where im at now.

And why do u say max you would do is 100sq.in. of port. What effects will I see from having 140 compared to 100?
Having that much port area will decrease power handling, especially in a box of that size.

It MAY be louder, but it's not worth it. No sense in having a port that large if you aren't going to benefit from it.

Every box that i've built for 15's had between 35 and 45 square inches of port per sub, both daily driver and SPL boxes.

Thats exactly what I'm not looking for //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif I'm worried that I'll be pushing the limit of the woofers allready and I want to make sure they aren't going to get over powered with my T30001bd. But on the other hand I do want it as loud as it can be.

Should I completely redesign this box? What should I do?

Here's a possible solution.

Build the port as you want to right now, the big one.

Then build a variety of port plugs with different port areas.

See which one you like the best. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

i'll agree when tommy says thats a lot of port...i have 84 sq inches of port per 2 15's in my box...you'll have almost double that amount. eh.
Dont you guys run aero ports? With those I've heard you dont need to use as much port area.
