Picked out Subs, Looking for amp

I just invested in a couple of 12" DVC MTX Thunder 5500's, and I'm new to the car audio world. The Recommended RMS is 300W and peak is 600W. I have no idea about amp stuff. Do I need mono or 2 channel? And how much wattage to make it sound good?

I would pick up a MTX 1501 that would work really well on those subs, what are the ohm configuration? dual 2 or dual 4

They're dual 4 ohm

The MTX TE1501D, already mentioned, would do the job. Basically you need something that can put out 1000-1500 watts at 1 ohm, the more the better.

I ran two of those subs for a couple years, around 800 @ 1 ohm is fine to get their full output.
