i have never heard a W7, i have heard 2 12" W6's, sealed with about 450rms to each of them in a 03 mustang, and it was a tight bass but didnt seem like the output i was expecting..... i have a hatch, so im sure it would be louder in that...

since i am only going with 1 12", i really want to be impressed which is why i want lots and lots of input before i decide...

thanks!!

i say w7 cause i have heard them, they sound amazing sq wise, and put out some pretty darn good spl if you want them to. the gti is a good sub as well, but imho not as good as the w7. never heard either a tc sub or the q so no comment on those though. btw dont pay retail on a w7. not worth that much imo.

have you heared any other subwoofer, cause the w7 imo isn't all that great sq wise, my atlas's put them to shame, granted its one badazz sub, great "sql" but not sq, imho.

The jbl not only sounds better than the rest imo, but it has a more linear design aswell. It is a driver that hardly ever gets mentioned around here, but it is great none the less. Hands down winner im my eyes out of what you picked.

alright, I guess Ill be the ID fanboi, what about an ID Max? I heard 2 w7's and thought they were alright, the kid that had the w7's wanted to buy my idmax's b/c he liked the way they sounded hehe

If they're the same price I pick a w7 without question. I've heard both, the 13W7's were quite a bit louder than the 15" Q's. And sounded better, imo. The W7's probably wouldn't tickle the Mic as much, but would definitely be louder from 45Hz and down.

i was reading into the ID max too...

Towncar - - - any idea why the jbl is never talked about? i heard someone say cause it was a dual 6 ohm....

and how would the Eclipse SW8200 stack up to the subs in the poll??

honestly Id take the ID max over the others, it may not have the most output in regards to an SPL application, but it wouldnt be lacking in output either. And it may be the best overall sounding woofer from that list, I havent heard some of the ones on the poll, so Im not knocking them, just giving my opinion.

Dont really have a clue why its never talked about, but its a proven driver. Garry biggs, and Alma gates have won several sq, and spl comps with these drivers. Nothing more needs to be said. While it never gets mentioned, its the most proven driver in the lineup //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif On this forum generally more internet based companies get mentioned..

towncar..... the sw8200 dont need much space in a small enclosure, right? and a kicker 1500.1 would power them real nice, right?

thanks!
