SPLC Fails
I work at AT&T for those of you who don't know. I hooked my phone up to the Jawbone Jambox we have on display at our store to play music for everyone. There were enough people there to watch it, so I left it out there and went to approve someones register in the back room. Just my luck, it got randomly busy and someone decided to snatch my phone.
At around 6:05 (we closed at 6), I went out to look for my phone, and it wasn't there. I pretty much knew that someone stole it, so I went and hopped on the security cameras to find out. 30 minutes later, I found a segment that showed him walking off with the phone. Turned out it was someone I helped out about 3 hours earlier...I went out of my way to help him out (I'm just supposed to greet people, but I decided to help him out and write stuff down for him as well), and the jackass stole my phone!
It was around 6:45 when I found out who it was, and he stole it at around 5:45. Once I knew who it was, I sent him a text from another phone and said "I know who you are, you're the one with the Sprint Samsung Epic. I have filed a police report. The phone has a tracker on it, and I am working with Sprint to locate your place of residence. I am giving you one hour to return the phone to my store, or you will be fined for criminal actions (I can't remember what exactly I said)". I had to wait there for a movie I was going to watch at 8 anyways, so I did just that. He didn't show up. I told him he has one last chance, and that is to hit the "sync with dropbox" button in my Titanium Backup application in order to send me a backup of what is on the phone. Reason being is that I can get a new phone for free (it was my company phone), but the backup is what matters to me.
Needless to say, he didn't follow through. After the movie, I got home and had an epiphany...since I signed up for an HTC Sense account on that phone, it is automatically synced with the HTC Sense cloud online, which allows me to lock and/or erase the phone, as well as auto-locate it! I immediately locked it, and left a message that says "Good luck selling a useless brick of metal! See you in court dumbass!". Unfortunately, the phone is turned off (I'm assuming it died, as the battery was already kind of low), so auto-locate won't work right now. But when he turns it on, I'm going to track him down and get my phone back!
I should also note that the guy was low enough to go on my facebook and ask out a bunch of my facebook friends. Good thing I can sign off facebook remotely! I also changed my google and facebook passwords for that reason...
Clifs: Mudafugga stole my phone while I was at work, didn't respond to my threats to return it. I used HTC Sense's Cloud server to lock the device, and will auto-locate it tomorrow to get it back!
