Hey everyone..

I am about to sell all my current audio equipment and do a fully custom setup (taking out backseat, Fiberglassing and all). So i need somthing that looks nice.. Thats how i came across The Phoenix Gold Xeons series amplifers. Plus they dont cost all that much.

Anyways I am going to be running 3 12w6v2 subwoofers, and 2 sets of comp. speakers. I am wanting to Run Phoenix Gold Xeon Series of amplifiers.. (4 channel, and Mono)

How are these amps? Anyone have any experence with them? What have you heard?

What do you guys think?

Thanks,

The only bad I've heard is some people talking about overheating problems. Not everyone, but occasionally. Nothing worse "quality wise" than any other product under the sun.

The Xenon amps are great amps, and everyone I've read reviews from have loved them. They have the regulated output like the JL audio amps, but the power supply isn't regulated like the JL's IIRC.. And from the reports I've seen, they seem to be underrated some too.

Mine came today I got the 1200.1, got it all hooked up and everything. Sounds pretty good, honestly it sounds lame and there is all this hype bout amps not making difference in sound, but in the manual it has everything done by clicks....to set your subsonic filter you just count to the specified clicks, you do the same for the low pass filter too, which is kinda nice. It sounds alittle cleaner, probably because of the closer than estimating what your settings are at. Power output on the birthsheet was 1223 at 4ohms and there have been people talking about getting more power at lower impedances even with the xe load stuff....

The overheating problem I can see happening, I ran it at 2ohms for about an hour straight, and it got alittle warm, which suprised me since it has the fans in it. It got about as warm as my Hifonics Brutus did. The nice thing is how they have the rubber covers for the corners, and that cover the wires, makes it look nice, its just a pain if you are trying to mount your amp with minimal space to work with. The little blue diode on the PG is exactly that, its like a mini xmas light just placed there....I personally would have liked to have had the inside lit up and glowing through the wire mesh looking stuff by the PG logo. the little diode is kinda weak. whateves thats not a big deal

My system is not any louder than my Hifonics 1500bx was, which I was running at 2ohms, for a 1000 watts, Which I kind of expected, and the darn remote bass knob for my hifonics does not work with the PG, so it looks like another 20 bux is going to go to a new one. I am a believer in Hifonics, Its not all hype, Its a 250 dollar amplifier that puts out a good deal of power, for a good price. I am however, excited about this PG amp, Its much longer than the Hifonics, and MUCH more appealing to the eye, the brushed aluminum and black endcaps are sexy, plus it just looks big and big is cool for me, I have a bit of space to play with.

Hopefully those are some answers you are looking for. If you do decide to get one, see if the dealer has a remote knob, I already miss mine.

Sorry, I tried to say like 20 things at once...

The xenon amp sounds better than my hifonics

-it sounds lame to say that cuz it shouldnt make a audible difference

-you set your low pass and sub sonic accordingly ....say you want to be at 30hz for a subsonic, its like X amount of clicks to get it there....its easier to set, and more accurate I would assume, which is why it sounds better than my hifonics

::thumbs up for the amp so far:: =)
