The xenon series as a whole actually has better sq then the titaniums did. Granted they dont look that great, they sound the good.

From what I heard they are built better (using surface mount technology simular to what RF does). As for internal components used some Xenon parts are better (as they should be, its newer) but some (not all) Ti circuitry is more overbuilt although both are overbuilt. And for sound quality most people including PG will tell you they cant tell the difference in sound between an old MS, Ti or new Xenon.

The Ti's had their own problems but when they break its always been over time/usage (metal strands getting on the circuits thru the vents, heat sinks getting loose. problems the xenon shouldn't have) but because the Ti' were derived and look like the ZX

some think they were just as good but the ZX are from the PG days of gold plated circuit boards and no cost cutting. The Ti's arent built like the ZXs.

Two things I dont care for: same 1-4ohm power rating. dont like it with JL and dont like it with PG. and styling. If PG had just styled their stuff clean and simular to the past (like they did when they transitioned from ZX to Ti) nobody would doubt their products and old PG fans would still be as happy as ever. when a company goes from all business serious styling to fast and furious its only natural to question the direction the company is taking.

They should have put the Xenon internals in the clean octane shells and vice versa. Thats seems much more fitting to me as the octane amps (and even speakers too) look fine and much cleaner to me.

yea I agree. The appearence of these amps turned many people off, and their for they automaticly say oh the ti, or the zx would sound better, when in reality its not true. Hopefully pg will get their act together with styling. Its okay to have some flashy products for the entry line to attract kids, but for the upper likes like the xenon, it would have better to have a more professional look like the old titaniums, zx's, ect. Granted that some of the new stuff looks like its for kids, it still has the pg sound. Whats really annoying is pg is comming out with a new line under the xenons, and I saw a sketch of the amp, and was immediately turned off, but we shall see what that has to bring. The titanium elite line is the only product line for pg that looks proffesional.

BTW, I found this white paper on the Xenon amps and just put the icing on the cake if you ask me. You can see how over build they are from the previous generation on PG amp. Im in love...

They put rubber on the end of the amplifier because it looks sick, thats what they do to make they amplifier sicker than the previous model that was almost as good. The Xenon is superior in many ways. Mine produces almost 1450watts RMS @1ohm not 1250 which it came rated at. 1250 is simply the very lowest RMS it can peak at. This amp has alot of headroom, the sound quality is as good as bass can be. This amp has never clipped once, has never overheated once, and has silent turn on/offs. This amp looks real sick and could not be improved on as far as a 1200watt class D sub amp goes.

I love PG I have a ZX450 and that thing sounds great. I had it running my fronts and my subs and that thing sounded great. I had 2 PG Xmaxs 10s and did they sound good. The xenon is a great amp, and the price cant be beaten for all the features you get on this amp, and sq. It puts out full power at 1-4 ohms, and sounds cleaner than just about any amp out. Its definately worth checking out.

Unfortunetly not. It actually lost a bit of power at 1 ohm, @ 100watts. Don't hold that against it. It'll still outperform most amps on the market at comparable $$/power. But according to other posts, it puts out more. I'm going off of what the PG forum moderators posted. Unfort. they shut the site down to a bit of PG bashing among other reasons.

If you can scrape up the xtra $$, go for the XENON ONYX 600.1, rated to do @ 800-850wrms. It's thier new limited ED amp.
