Its a good amp and will outperform its ratings but you can find much cheaper equivilents if you look around.

The Tantrum is much more popular than the Xenon but they are hard to get a hold of now...

Make sure you get one with a warranty. There were some problems with the early batches, but they have since been solved.

The xenon is a great amp, and the price cant be beaten for all the features you get on this amp, and sq. It puts out full power at 1-4 ohms, and sounds cleaner than just about any amp out. Its definately worth checking out.

it wasent just the early batches,it was "TheBatch" , IE pre 2005

All the problems with the xenons have been solved. You shouldnt have to worry about anything messing up, but its always good to have a warranty.

Pg is just having some styling problems. Thats all I can say about the rubber ends.

check the manufactured date on it when you get it. PG will tell you they have no way of knowing which ones were bad from "the batch" until it dies. PG as a company isn't what it used to be product wise but the support and customer service is still there. I have a titanium series amp but they dont have anything currently that interest me (as opposed until up to just a few years ago when almost all their product lines interested me). Their xexon lines of speakers, subs and amps just isnt my idea of worthy replacements for the titanium line of speakers, subs and amps. ESPECIALLY the retarded juvenielle styling. That alone's enough to turn me off!

Ill admit after the titanium series things seemed to go downhill, but the new xenon amps still have as good as sq as the titaniums, or better. Yes they have had some major design flaws, but thats expected whenever you release a new product. The xenon subs sound great. Ill admit they dont look the part, but who says you can just look at a sub and tell what its going to sound like. The xenon series as a whole actually has better sq then the titaniums did. Granted they dont look that great, they sound the good.

They are having major styling issues, and maybe all of our complaining that we do on the pg forums will make them finally realize that not many people like the looks. Oh well, still sounds as good as the ti series. I didnt believe it untill I heard it myself.

My friend has one powering 2 12 inch MTX 8500 subs in a ported box and the amp is nice. It is very clean and will birth at more than 1200watts. I think it's a great amp and I would put it up there with my DIAMOND AUDIO M6 1500 watt mono amp but the thing I like about the PG is it will do 1200#watts at 1-4 ohms thats nice.
