I'm eventually planning on running something like this sub in my future car. I saw a vid of 2 of these things pounding, and was just //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eek.gif.771b7a90cf45cabdc554ff1121c21c4a.gif

Anyways, so I also plan on running 2 of these, most likely in 2 separate sealed boxes of appropriate volume, (custom fiberglass) and was wondering what these subs do sound wise? Being at 1200 watts a piece, I'd imagine they would be geared more towards SPL then Sq, but do they keep up with music well?

I love the look and the stats of these subs alot, but I also usually think better bang for buck.

Impressions?

i bet they would sound awesome as crap. as a matter of fact if i had a job/money i would get a ti elite. i have the rsd and it sounds awesome so i cant imagine the sq of the ti elite being any worse so i would give it a try

You would be wrong. Phoenix gold has always geared their equipment with sq in mind first. It just so happends that the elites can get loud aswell. In all honestly I would not run these drivers unless you had mininal 1500 watts. They are extremly inefficient drivers. With that said, they are very nice sounding woofers, and easily have the most lowend out of any superwoofer ive heard.

I knew all of their other woofers were SQ, just wasn't sure on the Ti's.

I would probably like to have an overhead of about 1500 RMS, so yea, I'd be running that.

As for sealed, I know ported = more output, but I like the size of sealed boxes. I also rarely blast the system too loud. Come to think of it, I would only run one.

Even if you only ran 1 I'd still suggest porting it. Just tune it nice and low like 32Hz or below. I've run 2 different setups at below 30Hz and loved the SQ and the lows they pounded out. Do what you want man, its your stuff. I just think you'd be much happyer with a ported enclosure.

They are meant for sealed enclosures, i had one 12 and absolutely loved it, but when someone offers u more money for it than u paid, u gotta take that deal. i got one for 325 and this guy gave me 400. but anyways it had amazing sq and got ridiculously low, but it is very power hungry and if u run two of em, at least 3000 rms. great subs though

i didn't know they made this sub in 12'' i thought it only came in 13''..but those things are indeed nasty, a friend had 2 of them in an eclipse...sick setup

umm the sub is called the titanium 12d elite... Its only available in 12s. Pg does not make 13s, and never will.
