I was thinking about trying to find a used Phoenix Gold Ti amp for my install. Would that be a bad idea seeing is how they are not made anymore and if something would happen to it would I even be able to get it fixed?

I'm looking for sound quality from a very small system, 4 channel amp to power one set of components up front with an 8 or maybe 10in sub from the rear channel in a small extended cab truck. Thanks

Phoenix gold still fixes every amp, except the tantrum amps, seeing as their are no class t chips available. On a side note, any reputable amp repair shop should be able to fix them aswell, so If you were planning on getting them, then go right ahead. They are fantastic amps, and they hold their value extremely well..

I had 2 of them. ti 400.2 and a ti 600.2. Really nice amps. CLean power and not a moment of issues with either of them. In fact i had then in 2 different vehicles for 4 years. The last vehicle transaction required them to stay put or I would most likely be using them for my current vehicle.

Ok thanks guys, I did have them in my last system and really liked them alot. Just didnt know how they stack up against all of the new products on the market today.

i still have the ti 500.4 running my comps from the time i bought them (~3 years ago) and they haven't given me one single problem....i was thinking of replacing it with the sundownz / zed audio / alpine pdx amp for my next reinstall....how would they hold up against those amps?

These are among the best amps ever made. You may also want to look for PG's M44/M50/M100 amps. I love them even more //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

PG amps used to be the "bee's knees" back in the day when they were built in U.S., but who knows how good they are or even who builds them anymore in this day and age of outsourcing.

Ya I used to have them a few years ago and now that im gettng back into I was thinking about trying to find one but I ended up going with the Zapco Reference amps instead. I hope they are as good as my old PG ti's

Ya, sorry for bumpping an old thread, but yes GREAT stuff. I have a TI 1200.1 and 2x 900.7's. Great stuff!

M series and MS MPS etc series are wonderful as well...and hold more value than the TI line currently.

There's another forum that I frequent and they are really cool there. We LOVE phoenix gold equipement. If you are interested, let me know and I can show you where we exist! I dont want to post here in case it is not accepted policy to do so.

The TI line is still repairable as stated above. In fact Everything as stated is still repairable. Also the Tantrum line is still repairable except the T1200.1 (last I heard) like a couple months ago.

good and bads... i had 2 amps installed

the 500.4 and 800.1, the 500.4 was running fine, 2days after install BAM overloaded and wont work no more :-/ it sucks... i just got the system installed recently to so now im waiting on the shop to find one so it can get replaced. so from recent encounter with Phoenix gold, its a 50/50 like/dislike
