well personally I've never heard either. I have read rave reviews on both, but if it was my choice I would pick the PG. This is not to say the TC is bad, because Ive read that it is very robust and handles great amounts of power.

I say you cant go wrong with either choice, I just give the "sq" to the PG.

The phoenix gold has nice power handling and sounds great but i cant really speak on the db500. For me it was either the phoenix gold or the db500 and i went with the RSD

I run the DB's.

They can get plenty loud, and are quite accurate. Good sounding woofers.

I think the PG RSD's would end up sounding better. Not sure which will get louder. IF SQ is the main goal, then look into the TC2000.

I guess linear displacement is doesn't really mean a thing any more.
