Hello, I am new to the forum and would like to ask for your help.

I have a Phoenix Gold QX300.4 amplifier and a Kenwood KFC-XW1202DVC Subwoofer (300w-1200W).

I want to hook them up, but not sure which is the best way. I have following possibilities:

AMP pridged 4 ohms (X2) producing 150W each > connected to SUB, as 150X2. but, the sub only accepts 2 ohms per channel this way, and amp produces 4 ohms per channel. Will this work? This way I could use the amp's maximum power.

If I bridge the dual voice coils to 4ohm, I could connect only 1X150 watts, and another channel of amp would be free, so this way I would only use amp's half power.

Any ideas which would be best connection in this situatiuon?

Thanks

you have the wrong sub/amp combination. you have a 2 ohm DVC sub. you will only give that sub about 150W with that amp. I think the best bet is to wire the sub coils in series for 4 ohms, and bridge the amp rear channels for 4 ohms. then use the other two channels for your front speakers. eventually, get a better monoblock sub amp that is rated at 1 ohm.

do not bridge the amp and wire to the 2 ohm coils, the amp will overheat and go into protect, possibly be damaged. you cannot use all four channels or both bridged channels to drive that sub.

if you had a 4 ohm DVC sub, you could give 150W bridged to each coil.

Thanks for reply.

One question, will 150 watts be enough for this SUB? As it says that nomilan power should be 300 Watts.

Also, which is better in that case, to bridge the sub connections and input 1x150Watts on 4ohms (by briging sub's dual voice coils) or to go for 2x75Watts (not bridging sub's dual coils) on 2ohms.

Which one would you recommend?

Thanks

Thanks for help, I will post results after installation //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
