i think it's safe to say that the amp does not put out 200A at idle. Alternator ratings are typically max at a few thousand RPM. good manufacturers (Irragi or Ohio Generator) will provide output curves so you see what it does at idle.
whether or not you need it depends on your system. obviously, there are a lot of wiring upgrades that accompany a higher output alt. also, expect a reduction in fuel mileage as larger alts require more effort to spin.
determine or measure the current draw from your sound system at your typical listening volume when the car is idling. install a volt meter so you can monitor voltage. if you can't maintain 14V with 2k RPM then your current alt is too small.
