Are the Phoenix Gold Coaxicals any good? They are the 5 1/4 octane series i think Or should i go with some different Coaxicals? And also is it better to use 6x9 in the or to go with 6 1/2in round speakers?

It's spelled "coaxial"...just an fyi.

I know I've heard the Octane series coax's before, but honestly I couldn't give them a detailed review. What sort of a budget are you looking for?

If you have 6.5"'s for your front stage, use those. The 6x9's are for rear fill, if you want it.

My budget would be about $150 for both front and rear speakers

I'd recommend brands like Focal, Boston Acoustics, CDT, Kicker, Aura, etc...

Ditch the rear speaker idea and concentrate on the front stage. For $150, you can pick up some really nice speakers.

Ok i got another question why is it everyone doesn't really pay attention the rear speakers but they like to put alot of money into the front speakers?

Instruments don't come from in back of you, so why should your soundstage and imaging be drawn backwards? Unless you're running a 5.1 or 7.1 surround system, where the rear surrounds actually have a purpose.

Hey are the MBQuart DKE 113's a good coaxial?

Dont even look at the octanes they are an entry level, and dont do very well. Look into the pg xenon components. Silk dome tweeter sounds smooth, and sound superb with live music.

Note the tweeters are attachable. So you can either use them as components or coaxes.
