Pheonix gold titanim thermal mode????wired 2 ohm????

Ok for starters I have 2 12 inch Rockford fosgate p3 slims dual voice coil 2 ohm subs,a phenoix gold titanium 800.1 amp and 4 gauge Rockford fosgate wire and a 1 fared Rockford cap,now I have everything wired to 2ohms the way the Rockford site said to do it and I checked pheonix gold web site and the amp is 2ohm stable..now my problem is that when I play it loud for like 3 min it goes into thermal mode.and it's not a heat issue because the amp is cold and I used to have a 400 watt amp (same series) in before and was never a problem..now what can be causeing it to go into thermal mode?

^ yea that make sure your ground is metal to metal. I had a similar problem. GL

It's to metal but in all honesty it's relly not the best..but the other amp worked fined with all the same wireing
