PhD vs Sundown vs MB Quart: Which do you get & why?

So I'm getting a system put into my 240SX Convertible and I've got 3 guys who are pretty **** good with putting systems together.

I've talked with all 3 of them about which components I should have put in my car and they all recommended different speakers.

1. PhD FB6 - $300

2. Sundown components - Not sure which yet but I see there are only 2 of them available... -http://www.sundownaudio.com/index.php/products/speakers/item/neo-pro-series-copy.html

and

3. MB Quart Premium - $250

"Mb quart is not bad depends on the model. Sundown isn't going to be the quality of any of them but good. PhD is sound quality competition level. Some quarts are good and some are bad."

The sundowns don't really compete with the other two. Different price bracket. I'm selling a set of BNIB ones for only $150. They are great speakers for the money though. But if you are willing to spend $300 then there is better in that price range. What is your goal? Will the doors be properly treated and what kind of processing and power do you have. You can get a $100 set of speakers and they will sound the same as a $300 set if your doors aren't done and you have a crap head unit.

Goal is to have a system built that will last me years. Sounds very crisp (hence the willingness to spend $300 on components and also a highs amp later on) and has low & loud bass. I'm not planning to compete or push the fk out of my system every day.

I'm not sure how to answer that question. I know I'll be having a speaker ring made for me because the stock door speakers for my 240SX are 4x6's and I want 6.5's as my components.

My head unit is solid. Pioneer DEH 80PRS

I like the phd components. And in the same price bracket is the cdt hd 61a, Tantric and even some mid level hertz Esk I believe
I heard Hertz were pretty good.

Might as well take Sundown out of the equation. Some guys I talked to said it's not as good as the PhD or the MB.

Only mb quartz components that I would consider are the German made ones. Nothing else Also you'll need to deaden your doors to get the full effect of a nice set of components If not your just wasting time and money and like I said toss the tantrics in there to I'd up my budget to $350 for even a nicer set. Also you'll need to amp them

Sound deadening worth it if I drive a convertible?

I'd go with the phd comps out of those

Its always worth it to seal and deaden your doors

unless you have very picky ears and are planning on running active, you can get away with running cheaper components and spend more money on deadening doors and getting an amp for them, it'll give you a crisp sound you want. Those high end compenents are for people that want every exact detail possible and they will sound like crap if you dont deaden your doors and amplify them with a good amp. Deadening brings out midrange warmth ~ vocal + midbass clarity and impact
