if my sub is facing the rear of the car and is hooked up normally (pos on pos neg on neg), do i want to change my phase to 180 since it is facing the rear?? how can i tell if my subs waves are in phase with my components? i cant tell an audible difference with using the two. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

Unless yoru components are playing the same signals, it wont matter. A destructive wave is when the troughs and peaks are at exactly the same points, so unless your mids and tweets are playing the 40Hz signals, you will have no problem at 180 or 0.

Also, Even if they were playing the same signals, I highly doubt the magnitude would be the same, so while cancellation would be present, the mids would not totally cancel out the sub, so you would still have bass //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif
