Hey guys, asked this question a while back, didn't get an answer, thought Id try again. I have 2 tantrum 1200.1's (both benched right around 1550 watts). My confusion comes from PG recommending an 80 amp fuse for that amp. At 80 amps, there is no way in hell I'll ever see 1500 watts through that fuse, slow-blow or not.
So I called PG directly just a few mins ago, talked to a tech who Im not at all confident knew any more than I do about the situation or the product. After discussing it, he came back with recommending a 100 amp fuse. Well thats still 1440 watts allowable, and that would be IF the amp was 100% efficient, which it obviously is not. I explained this to the tech and he said 'oh, you're right, go up to a 120 then'.... gah? Obviously the guy was just guessing, big help there. Why in the hell did PG recommend an 80 amp fuse for a 1500 watt amp? According to the tech, the titanium 1200.1's have a 120amp fuse recommendation. Makes no sense to me.
So, anyone here running a tantrum 1200.1 .... what the hell in-line fuse size/type are you running to it? lol Thanks.
