Pg Tantrum 1200.1 and JL TW5

Does anyone think that this is a good combo or a little too much power for the sub, not sure how much the amp puts out at 3 ohms, my amp is rated at 1513.7, and I know the JL's canonly handle 600rms?

That's way too much power , 700 watts at the max. A 500/1 will be plenty loud enough.

maybe a 750.1 zx or a 500.1 mcd/pr or the 500 slash

the tantrum will put out full power from 4-1 ohms. Based on what I've seen on birthsheets, you're looking at around 1400w rms. Definitely need another sub or you need to switch up the combo. Since those JLs cost about $500 apiece, I would just go with a different amp or larger sub

im going to run a single 1000/1v2 to a pair of TW5s.

you should look into a new amp.

or

if you havent bought the sub get something else.

Thinking about doing the JL 1000 with 2 tw5, just didnt want to get rid of the PG, plus the PG is not 1 ohm stable, and the JL's are 3 ohm so 2 would be 1.5 ohms, too low for the PG, anyone know when the 12 TW5 will be out?

theres a 500/1 in classifieds for a decent price right now.

you can order them now they are just back order for about 2 weeks

After box rise, you will be just fine running the tantrum
