PG RSD's vs. CDT

what else have i been so "vocal" about? lol

Don't even make me link the dozens of glowing references to your Dayton HO 10. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

I wasn't being mean--just joking with you. In fact, I am going to order a set of these just pretty much based on your review thread on the CA forum.

well alrighty. i just am thrilled with both the rsd's and the dayton. both awesome for the prices. it's just great being able to get good stuff at good prices.

i just think for $87 they are amazing, especially amazing that they are surviving on an amp that can deliver 300+ watts a side to them active. rated at 60 watts rms for the set run passive but yet surviving 300 watts active for $87. what other set for $87 can do that?
You are sending these speakers 300 watts per door active?

Thats alot of fuvking power man. Are you serious?

i have the cdts in my sig. Is it possible to buy rsd woofers and run those, my cdt tweets, and my cdt crossover?
probably dont want to do that. The CDT speakers are nice budget speakers. I had them installed for a while and was very impressed.

i have the woofers in boxes actually on my rear deck because i dont want to fiberglass in my car that i will be gettin rid of seen. The mid-bass is not too impressive. That would be the only reason i want to switch woofers.

Why is that a bad idea?

Doubt they're seeing that much (at least continuous)... that's how much power he has on tap.

If you are referring to using the RSd mids with the CDT tweet and CDT crossover, then I wouldn't recommend it either; Unless you are certain about the passive crossover points working well with the RSd mid. At that point you might as well go active, IMO.

yes i have them on the DD S4 which can deliver up to 200 watts rms per mid, and 100 watts rms per tweeter. are they seeing that much RMS? no, i highly doubt it, but my clip light does flash a teeny tiny bit now and then, so that means that at least one channel is meeting the rail voltage for a split second at a time. they are taking it just fine and sound **** good and **** loud doin it.

What are they crossed at on the low end when that amount of power is going to them?

mids are band passed from 80hz/12db to 2.5k/24db, then the tweets are at 4k/24db at the moment. when i had the mids on the zx550.2 i had them from 50hz/24db and up and they also were just fine and dandy. sounds a bit clearer at high volumes with them at 80/12db but at lower to moderate volumes they have no problem being crossed low. they actually have quite a bit of output below 80hz.

Thats quite a bit of power to cross at 50hz, thats cool those pg's will take that much power down low.
