PG RSD12 vs RE RE 12. Is more cone area better?

Ok.....So I'm getting ready for my new build and I'm doing in on a strict budget. I've been searching for months and have narrowed my subs down to either (4) Phoenix Gold Rsd12 or (6) RE RE12. I can get the 4 Rsd's for 300 and the RE12s for 330, so price is right on par with one another. which do you think would be better. although the REs have more cone area, I would only be feeding all six about 1500 watts due to the weird ohm load. with the Rsd's, they'll be getting around 2000 watts, maybe a little more. i know install counts for alot, but any suggestions would help. thanks.

What cubes and tuning are you thinking for each option?
I'm looking at roughly 8 cubes for the rsd's tuned to between 30 and 32 Hz. For the REs I was thinking about 10 cubes tuned to 32.

RE makes legit *** subs but the re12 is the legit bottom of the barrel. You might get louder at a peak frequency with the 6 REs but I think you would be happier overall with the 4 rsds. They are beefy ****ers too!

Rsds like larger than 2 cubes ported. They like almost that sealed //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif
I can make the box larger. They can take 1.8 to 2.5 ported so I should be ok with 2 cuber per sub.

Makes sense. Thanks for the input.

RSD is SQ. SE will get louder.
I'm talkin about the RE series. Not the SE.

Anyone else

Sorry, my bad. In that case the RSD's will destroy the RE RE. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

YOu will have some nasty low end if you build that box for the rsds.

I would just whip up a quick 8 cube sealed box and see how you like them that way first.
What setup are you coming from?

Kevin

My setup was supposed to be two MJ-18s, but I only got around to installing one in my everyday 6 cu ft box tuned to 32. I'm sure the RSDs would get louder and lower than that.
