PG RSD vs PG X5.0 Xenon Components???

I liked my RSD's but as with alot of other people my tweeters blew so i was wondering if anybody has experience with their next step up Xenon series comps???

For only $130 ($250 retail) are they worth the cash over RSDs $60 ($160 retail)?

There's no "next step up" to the XENONs. The RSDs replaced the XENONs. RSDs are the XENONs equal and in some ways better.

I own both pairs and I've had no issues w/either one. The XENONs I ran at 75 wrms per side and the RSDs I ran at 75 wrms per speaker actively and 250 wrms passively.

I had both also, but I disagree. I liked the Xenon better. One of my Rsd tweeters blew, but the Xenon tweeters never messed up. I wasn't real impressed with either. If you're like most, you'll be impressed. Keep in mind that I never expected greatness from either. They both sound good for what they are, but I'll never say they sound better than speakers that cost 3 times as much.

X2, i like xenon more than the Rsd's.

In my application, the RSDs had more mid bass then the XENONs did. Nothing was changed between the two, gains, eq...Nothing.

Was just gonna suggest that, just keep the crossovers and mids formt he rsd set, and pick up some CDT silk tweeters or something. Much cheaper, and I thin the rsd 6.5 is a great sounding driver for the cost

Yes! The xenon tweets can certainly take a beating, and sound nice. The rsd mids have tons of midbass output, while the xenons lack. Rsd mids, with the xenon tweet would be a nice setup.

My suggestion is that you take a look at the exile xtec components. They are better than both sets mentioned above. Very nice set, but ofcourse they cost more than both sets mentioned. Or you can wait, and maybe pg will hurry up and release their new component set coming out. Hopefully it will be here soon..

how much power can the mid alone from the pg rsd set take and still sound good?

I tried giving them 100rms and they were fine for the 2 weeks i had them in there alone, some people on here say they are giving them 150 though, I dont know if I would push them THAT hard

The Xenon comps and amps are much better quality and sound compared to the RSD.

I have give my RSd about 200W, they take it like a champ, but i just put the gain down a little to be in the safe side, i have been sending then 150W for about a year now.
