PG Comps for SQ

I was looking into doing a Phoenix Gold system all around because i have the xenon 600.1 amp and im getting a RSd12d 12" sub from PG but i was looking into components for my car all around..and im not sure what to do if i should stick with PG or get another brand for a 5 1/4 set and a 6.5" set willing to spend maybe $100 - 150 per set. Any thoughts on what would be good for SQ

rsd's are supposed to be better than the xenon components, which I've owned and thought were pretty good. The xenon's had a great tweeter, that was almost as good as the one in the excellent Morel-made PG Ti Elite components, which I also owned.

The best components I've ever had were 3-way Morels, but they're also pricey.

I had a set of the xenon 6.5 and liked them. I listened to the rsd's in a sound board and thought they were a little bright for my liking. other than midbass I liked the xenons better.

they are worth the 100 you can get them for in my opinion. I prefer a real laid back sound, so with that most speaker sound pretty bright to me. I wouldnt hesitate to buy them at that price. I would consider the x alpines if you can spend a little more money and prefer a smooth set but not killer midbass

You really cant judge comps from a sound board, no telling how shops have things wired now adays. YOu should be more than happy with the rsd comps, great set for the money, and not at all harsh.

I am looking for decent midbass..but from what i read the RSd12d gets the job done pretty well for low..and decent for the higher bass notes. The wierd thing about my car (scion tC) is that the 6.5" speakers are in the front and 5.25" speakers in the rear. If i spend all the money on the front stage wont the horrible rear stage interfere and make it sound unbalanced?

I wouldnt run rear fill, just focus on that front stage..

The RSds are a set of speakers that are hard to be beat in their price range. Ran them for a couple months I liked them so much! One of the best performance/price sets out there.

It's all in the taste //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

I ran rear fill, at same wattage per speaker as the front (70 rms). I'd suggest running the rear channels at about 20% less power than the front, or, if you have a head unit that has auto adjustment, run them full power, and let the deck time adjust and all that jazz (higher end pioneers have this, it is awesome.)

Either way, I'm happy I ran rear fill. I tried without it and I didn't like the sound.

Anyways, I'd imagine that the PG comps are a great bang for buck component. I wish I would have gotten these rather than the Type-R's, which I'm not satisfied with.

At the price they are it's not a large loss, and you can always turn around and sell them right away and not lose much at all.

Im gettng the JVC 6.5" headunit i dont remember the exact model number..its not touch screen but i never really cared for it..from what i hear its pretty good and its half the price of a touchscreen. the site i found it at was like 509 with free shipping
