While i was at work tonite, i got into this argument with this guy who ONLY buys rockford fosgate, because in his mind- it IS the best product out there. I told him you can buy better products for less....but to no avail went no where. He proceded to tell me that this guy he knew was using two 15" dvc hx2 wired at 4 ohms, and he competed at competitions and was beating guys with 2 ohm setups (not to mention, he apparently hit 171 Db) . I was getting pissed off listening to him because he was so ignorant. I find it hard to believe that he even knows anything about any other sub out there...and i mentioned the orion HCCA subs...and he was telling me how bad they were- same with audiobahn. I just kept telling him that there were better products out there, and he finally got pissed off and left me alone....just thought i'd let you all know, kinda funny...

yeah, its kinda funny when the whole forum flames one guy...itd be pretty interesting. I personally dislike rockford products, thats pretty much why i started the whole conversation...to get a reaction. No one around here has ever heard of adire, kinda sad, it'd be fun to buy a brahma and show it off a little, let people see a real sub.

That guy is an idiot, but what do you expect? Companies like Adire, RE, ED, etc. don't have nearly half the funds Rockford does. They focus on products and superior quality, while Rockford focuses on sales. They have the capability to mass produce their products and the funds to get them distributed to major chains around the world. It's unfortunate that so many people don't have the opportunity to check out the stuff the smaller companies make, but that is the way it is. People who think Rockford (can be replaced with random company) is the best mainly belive that because it's all they have heard. I know when I first got into car audio I thought the JL was the best - because JL was the best that I heard at the time. Doesn't mean I was an idiot, I just hadn't been exposed to all that was out there. But hey, if the guy is happy, let him live in his own world.
