I really need help with Choosing my first sub, amp and speakers not Components.I wanna enter SPL contests...and for now i want 1 12inch...later on in my career i will get more than 1 sub but im 17 dont really have to much money now. This is what i have planned so Far...For my Sub a 12 inch XXX which i have no clue what the price is ..some1 please tell me or a 12ich Diamond TDX for 550$ at a local store who im good friends with...which sub would be better for SPL.. For an amp im thinking about buying a Memphis Mojo for 500$ its 2400 watts at 1ohm they retail over 1000 easily and sell in stores for around 900. but im gettin a deal. and for speakers to keep up with this system NO CLUE. My deck i already have and its an Eclipse ..good solid deck.

Sounds like a pretty nice first SPL set up. I know someone that has a 12" XXX with about 1900w rms going to it and is doing low to mid 140's.

That sucks tho i hear the TDX can get low to mid 150s

It's all about the setup. The XXX can do amazing things. Go with what you feel best with. The XXX will be a lil cheaper than $550 and put up hella numbers. Your install is the biggest thing.

ok ur type R's can't do that most likely. i'm doubting even though it probably is possible. u were probably being tested on a an unofficial meter. well that XXX will give u a hella lot of bass. way more than ur type R's.

I doubt your type-r's can do that. I saw a tracker with 4 15" type-r's in a wall, and that guy hit 153. So....... I'd go with the XXX.

The guy with the 12" XXX I was talking about does a 144 on Linear-X using a 50/50 SQ/SPL box. If he went with a different box your talking easy high 140's low 150's...it's all in the set-up. And even if your AlpineS did do that this is one sub compaired to two.
