I agree Ignatowski, the U.S. govt has a spending problem, not just an income problem.
But the problem with just raising import tariffs is 1) it will raise the cost of living for people in the U.S., and 2) at best it will help manufacturing only for U.S. markets. The U.S. needs to figure out how to compete globally in manufacturing. We have to make products people in other countries want to buy, at prices they can afford.
And our politicians need to stop spending money like there's an unlimited supply.
