PDX, iPaul, or nine.5

I've been trying to decide what to buy. I can get the ipaul's or PDX's for about the same price. The nine.5 would obviously cost a good deal less, but if I won't lose much SQ I'd take the chance.

Would be used to power a pair of Rainbow Vandi comps, and 1 IDQ 12.

Any suggestions?

Sounstream Tarantula TRA880.5

Rockford Fosgate Power 1000

those are a few of your choices.
Thanks, but I meant between the choices in my first post--pdx, ipaul, nine.5.

whatever fits the budget best. as long as the amplifier is not some walmart garbage then you should not run into problems. i always like to have at least 75w@4 on my front stage, so thats the biggest thing that would come into play for me personally.

i would either go with the rainbow or the alpine based on the price and install area to be considered. power wise, about the same, quality wise, about the same - like you said, price is about the same.

so i would worry about size of the two as the pdx are symmetrical and the ipaul is not. that would be the biggest factor in decision. i would not recommend buying from ed if you can help it... their amps work - my friend has two. they are basically avinoxx amps rebadged and those worked fine as well... but ive seen too much shady business from that feller.

and id venture to bet the rainbow or the alpine would last you the lifetime of the vehicle if used correctly.

thats just my 2 cents.

ca.com members have their own reservations about eD products, but if you can look past it, i think it'll work out fine. if you've got the money though...i'd probably rock a rainbow or pdx just cus they look so hot.

For five channels, I personnally think the pdx-5 is the best overall choice.

The limited front stage really hurts though. In my situation, I am wavering between a 4.150 + 1.600 vs. the pdx-5.

Consider this....from what i understand the difference between 75w and 150w is 3dB...

the PDX is a smaller package, The iPaul is rare, and I like the options that are available. If you have the room I personally would do the iPaul's
What option does the iPaul have?

I guess perhaps crossovers on the amp...but imo I use the HU...you can hear the difference, I promise.

The phase and gain control on the dash remote, and the future option of the power mod.
oh, phase (for me) is controlled at the HU and gain is set once by DMM...but I could see how they could be attractive for others.

I'll check out thuis future option thing though.

The future option was suposed to be released at ces this year, but I never got word of the actual release.
