do you understand you have to customize it get to an Apples standars? An everyday person who doesnt know about computers will not be capable of doing this. They will go Straight to Dell or Alienware, if not VooDooPC(they have some nice systems, but $$$$) so this challenge is pointless really, but I'd like to see it anyways.

Lol, I just briefly checked the specs, this is going to be so mind numbingly easy. Be back in a few with the list.

as said before the everyday person just cant go into a store and expect to know which components to pick up and put to gether. as with an Apple everything is made.

the closest thing prefabbed to a mac i think is probally a VoodooPC

Mac integrated, not is trying to integrate, Intel chip due to the fact that the IBM and Motorola Power PC chips got really hot. That's why up until the Macbook and Macbook Pro came out the iBook and Powerbook were still running G4 Processors. IBM and Motorola couldn't seem to get the chips to run cool enough for a laptop. But my G5 iMac is still the coolest!!!

That's great! If you build it yourself. Now put yourself in an "average cunsumer's" shoes. You know, the people you would build a computer for, and tell us how much that system would cost. Because we all know **** well you're gonna mark it up more than $400 for assembly and programming. So, for the average consumer, Macs still win.

Good catch! I don't either. And if you're gonna buy a case that even comes close to the style of a Power Mac or Mac Pro, you're gonna shell out at least $100.

id say a Lian Li case can compare with a G5 case. so thats atleast 200. plus a demand for power is called for i say atleast 500watts.
