Sorry i meant customer service. Apple has the genius bar, anything wrong with your computer just take to an Apple store they'll fix it for you right there. If they can't fix they pack it and send it in. When i had my Sony Vaio(which i loved) I had to pack and send it in myself. Oh yeah first i had to wait for them to send the the box to pack it in. Takes a little longer to get computer back.
About true cost, for the average person(someone that doesn't know everything about computers) there less sofware to buy such as Virus protection which needs to updated every so often. If you regular stuff on a mac nothing illegal than you don't need virus protection. I don't wanna get into a huge debate. For me personally owning my Macbook costs less than when i had my Sony. It was less for the Sony when i bought it but after owning it for a while all the extras added up. For me personally it was well worth it to get Windows on my mac. I hardly use it, but need it once in a while. Everything i posted above was all personal experience. Most people i know(not all) that were PC lovers that tried macs use it now. Including my brother who is a Computer technician. Theres articles online that explain why a mac cost less.
