And I like a computer I don't have to tinker with. I guess that's why we're on here arguing. You like to tinker with computers, I, personally can't stand it anymore. That's why I bought a Mac, Apple isn't joking when they say "It Just Works". I would rather tinker with cars and airplanes.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif
there you go. for the avg consumer, mac is the way to go.

what bugs me tho are those commercials saying "yea im a Mac im hip i can edit video, edit music"..."im a pc...i can do spreadsheets and do word documents

horse hockey!

Yeah, I laugh at them too. Mostly because the Excel spreadsheets I use at work crash an average of eleventy billion times a day. So in my book, PCs can't really do much more than Gaming. And yes, for the average computer user, a Mac is the way to go. That's why it baffles me that the PC has such a stranglehold on the market. Your "average" user roughly equates to probably 60% or more of the computers sold, so who's conning them into buying PCs? Someone must be because Apple only has about an 8% market share..

macs are good for the same reasons they are bad, and pc's are the same way.

Macs you are very limited in the software you can use, and you do not have alot of hardware choices, but for those reasons, the software is molded perfectly to the hardware because it was built for it, and all the hardware matches all the other hardware.

PC's you have endless hardware choices, and enough software choices to choke a cow. But as a result, all the software has to try to work with thousands of hardware configurations, and all of the hardware has to try to work with all of the other hardware options.

thats the reason why people use pcs more than macs...PC's are more versatile. and P.S. PC's can do multimedia just as good as mac can. same thing as spreadsheets and word and stuff. get StarOffice (by sun microsystems) MUCH more secure and less prone to lockups. there are alternatives to the crap Microsoft puts out hehe.

Yeah, tell that to the government. I don't exactly have a choice what kind of software I run at work. Lowest bidder anyone?? Microsoft and Dell **** balls.

Yes because well built computers get BSOD ALL the time!
As a matter of fact, I don't remember my PC having a blue screen since um.. EVER.

You are an idiot.
whats the need for attacking people? This is a discussion, you have valid points, I have valid points. It comes down to a matter of Opinion. So how about you chill the f!ck out!!!!

No it comes down to people spouting random facts that they heard on the Internet when the real world is completely different. Mac OSX is no more stable than Windows XP and as a matter of fact, the mac laptops back in high school crashed WAY MORE OFTEN than ANY PC I have EVER owned.
Regardless of what some Apple "tech" will tell you, Mac OSX has no significant advantages over any other OS. A PC built with solid after market parts WILL be significantly more powerful AND more stable than a comparably priced Mac (as much as it can be with the enormous price inflation Apple uses).
Now why did the apple exactly crash? What was the user doing?

A custom pc with all the highend stuff to compete with an G5 or any Apple will in the end cost the about the same if not more. When a task given to a mac, it will get the job done more efficinetly, while in a windows based pc there are too many tasks in the background(unknowingly) that factor and can very well slow down the pc's utilization time for processing.

now im not dissin Windows. But when it comes to editing videos and rendering, I have more faith in the Apple then a PC. IMO

But I do enjoy the customization that can be done on a pc, especially for gaming //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif heck i got a pc in my car.
