I wonder, would you even need the driver on disk, or would OSX automatically recognise it like it does with virtually any other piece of hardware you throw at it??
stock drivers i see (if thats possible)....how would you update? g-cards **** on drivers found on an OS.

I just looked and the 750gb SATA drive for the Mac Pro costs $599.00 and I can get a 750gb Seagate SATA from Newegg for $159.99 + $5.94 shipping.
The SAME drive from Apple costs 3.6 times as much. God Apple sure is doing me a big favor! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif
See, you're trying to pull the whole "Macs are more expensive" line. The point any Mac lover will tell you is this. Yes, you can build a cheaper PC on your own. No one is arguing that fact, especially not me, since I know how cheap a PC can be built. The point is, if you take, for example, a Macbook, or Macbook pro, and try to build a comparable Dell laptop, or Gateway, or whoever, the Apple will usually cost the same, and in some instances, may even be cheaper. The same was also proven with desktops such as the iMac. And they come with more useful, much more stable bundled software. Again, Gaming, no contest, PC hands down, although I still prefer my Intellivision! And yes, if you are so inclined, you can build a PC on your own hella cheaper than Apple can build you a Mac or Dell can for a PC, but, you lose the all important customer service, and to a vast majority of the general public, that matters a LOT.

Id take a Thinkpad over a mac anyday.

bah customer service....i only use that for linksys...cuz im new to the whole wireless-age-thing. if you set everything up right the first time, no need for CS.

Eh, I was mainly talking about desktops not Laptops. I don't mess too much with laptops simply because most hardware problems require sending back to he manufacturer whether it's a mac or a pc laptop. I find Windows XP to be VERY stable and have never had any serious problems with it.
Well, you're one of the lucky ones I guess. No amount of Symantec or McAfee software could keep my system running properly. And right now I'm on a PC that loves to crash because the **** government loves their cheapo Dells. XP to me is a POS, and personally, Microsoft hasn't made a decent OS since 98SE. They say Vista is gonna be good, but Leopard will be better!

indeed windows XP is VERY stable...its the IE thats screwing everything up. 2/5 times i use IE it comes up with an unknown error message, or it just straight up shuts down.

If you want to run an emulator, go for it. But please, DO NOT say OSX is a slow POS because of your experience running it in emulation. Virtual PC allowed Mac users to run windows on Power PC equipped Macs, and it sucked balls. It slowed down so bad it wasn't funny. I guarantee you your OSX emulator will do the same thing.

As for wireless, I guess the Mac has one over your PC in that aspect too. I just got an Airport Express base station and you know what my install consisted of? Plugging it in. That's it. Of course I also ran the Airport Utility so I could password protect my network, but if you didn't want password protection, all you have to do is plug it in.

uninstall that resource hogging useless symantec and get NOD32...uses up only 20megs of system resources covers internet, email, EVERYTHING, and updates in hourly increments so you dont need to download a giant virus list like Norton. since ive been using that no hiccup.

i agree however with the XP ******* hehe. 98SE was the shizzle. i was very hesitant to switch to XP but software changes...

I don't even run Anti-Virus on my personal computer. Haven't for 5-6 years or so. I just know how to NOT get viruses as back when I was 8 or 9 I would get viruses and have to whipe my computer every 2 weeks lol. Knowledge is the best security //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
Oh, believe me, I went through the whole virus a day BS. Gotta love programs like Limewire. But even after I outgrew that crap, I would have to reformat the HD on average every 6 months. Windows is like that sometimes, and I was sick of it. And when all my hardware took a dump at the same time, enough was enough. So now we have 2 Macs, with 3 year warranties, and I'm sure we'll sell them and get new ones before the warranty expires. And if something goes seriously wrong, the Apple Store is an hour away, and the iMac and Macbook are very portable.

ive run OSX before on a mac. i liked it a lot. If you have the right system, i doubt it will lag.

nah its just that i got some crappy wireless b adapter/router (on top of my lack of knowledge)...im sure if i upgrade my network gear, there wont be a problem.

You guys know there is a x86 version of Mac OSX out right now don't you? It was released 2 or 3 months ago I believe.
I'd be willing to wager Apple didn't sign off on it, therefore it won't be around for very long. Apple gets really pissy when people pirate their software.

I actually prefer to format my machine at least twice a year. Very quick and easy way of sorting things out and making it simple again imo //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif
yea its actually good to reformat every six months or so, clean slate. be sure to back everything up you need tho...but i guess thats just for windows.

And I like a computer I don't have to tinker with. I guess that's why we're on here arguing. You like to tinker with computers, I, personally can't stand it anymore. That's why I bought a Mac, Apple isn't joking when they say "It Just Works". I would rather tinker with cars and airplanes.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif
