I've used MANY operating systems.

Win 3.11, 95, 98, ME, XP, Longhorn, MCE, CE

OS/2 Warp

BSD (many distros)

Linux (many distros)

DOS (yes, as the only operating system on the computer.)

OS X, Classic,

Solaris, etc etc.

Even f*cking VAX.

They certainly all have their pros and cons; But overall, the Mac is my machine of choice.

AcidicDreams, I see you put questionmarks next to Sherlock, Spotlight, and Terminal. I'd expect you to put questionmarks by Sherlock and Spotlight if you haven't used a Mac (thereby nullifying your argument against them anyway) but Terminal?

[Nearly] any power-user can see the benefit of Terminal. Any linux user, anyone who used computers before the nineties, anyone who used the library FreeNET, anyone who used to dial into BBSes,

So [see: relativity] you're a noob; Which isn't bad, but don't sell yourself short! There is great, usable technology in OSX.

Closemindedness is the downfall of innovation, if you're not part of the solution, .. then more for me. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I have three computers. They run:
Windows XP [pro corp]

Ubuntu [breezy]

Mac OS X 10.4[x]

They certainly all have their pros and cons; But overall, the Mac is my machine of choice.

ubuntu FTW!

I have used both and still have both. I much prefer Mac over PC. More convient than a PC. Better features. Dont need to be worried about being "outdated" the week after buying it. Mac FTW!!!

egads! terminal! yah, it's great to have but it took 'em long enough. Windows had it's beloved dos prompt (yah worthless in comparison but same idea) forever and just got rid of them... ohh and I have similar os experience with the exception of Mac OS... I just wasn't gonna blow that much extra money on an OS that couldn't play games... I've kinda quit playing games in the last couple years though and Mac OS may have it's day... especially if MS makes it harder to pirate their OS

PERSONALLY, i never liked macs... i found that when i DID use them, they were sooo much slower thatn MY pc, which was about 3 years older than the ones at school, and i hated that whole one button mickey mouse bullshit. It is slightly mroe user friendly though ill give it that... the way i see it, its like choosing a car... the mac is like a toyota echo with an auto ******...but like 3 times its sticker price; no frills, gets the job done, and easy to use... versus a civic with a manual ******... not as easy to use, but more versatile and has more features and you can do more with it... PC's are pretty much infinately mod-able. Macs, not so much. Now im not as up to date on macs as PCs, but if i remember correctly, macs are like twice the price of PCs, and last time i checked, they were like half the speed and had no RAM or drive space or anything useful...

Toyota echo

Quad core G5...a toyota echo

More like a bugatti veyron

While they cost more you can get more from them when you sell them

Its like buying JL Amps

They are good and expensive and there is better

But they hold the value pretty good vs other amps

I prefer pc because I can't live without right-click...and mac gives me bad memories of high school.

To be honest, I'd like to use mac, and I hear they are implementing software to make the right-click an option. In that case, I'll probably get one in 3 years (since I bought a pc notebook for the ENGE Department at tech).
