I am, actually ... You use Intellivision for a gaming console and want to make comments about buying a PS2 or XBOX for gaming ? LOL ... You ARE a n00b, so why insult me to defend yourself ? Oh yes, it's because you actually have nothing intelligent to say in your defense because you know nothing about the topic ...
PC Gaming is infinitely better than on a console ... The PS3 hasn't even been released in North America yet and its GPU has already been surpassed with the G80 ...
Ok, I guess you don't understand sarcasm. You know, about the Intellivision. Besides the fact that you probably had to google it to figure out what it was since it was made before you were born.

Uh, you called me an idiot ...
Do you just type stuff randomly without realizing what you're typing ? Keyboard turrettes ftl ...
No I don't but I think you do. Why don't you go through my previous posts and show me where I called you an idiot..............I guess you just don't like it when a "noob" proves you wrong, like I just did, again.

And ? That's buying more stuff ... and it's already more expensive to begin with ...
Get what I pay for ? Yeah, you're right, I did ... I got one, as well as my GF and her mom and not one of us have had a single problem in 7 months ...
7 months? WOW!! You better get to re-formating the hard drive soon. We all know it's pretty much a neccessity on a PC every 6 months, so, if my calculations are right, you're 1 month overdue and your computer is on borrowed time before a crash!

My older (now media) PC ran 2 years without a reformat without a single crash, BSOD, or other error ...
Your calculations aren't right, you're going by what someone else said because you have no experience or any idea what you're talking about ...
Ok, Mr. Mod, sir. You're right, I'm wrong. The almighty mod of the car audio forum has spoken.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif Seriously man, you need to relax.

That is highly dependant on the manner in which the end user uses it.

I have an absolute dinosaur of a desktop.

PII 300mHz processor, 256mb of PC100 RAM, nVidia GE Force II vid card, blah, blah, blah....

It was given to me by my mother and when I acquired it the old gal still had Win95 installed for an OS and the first day I got it I wiped the HD and installed Win98se.

It has been running faithfully without a single reformat (no crashes, no nothing, no anything that might indicate the necessity for it by the way) since. It never gets used for anything more involved than 'Net surfing, emailing, and running WinAmp for music but it chugs along faithfully with NO problems nonetheless.

That was 6 years ago.

By your estimation I reckon I'm seriously overdue for a crash and reformat, eh?

Hey hey now. PCs can run just fine for years without formatting, I simply said that I prefer to format mine at least twice a year to keep everything running at optimal performance. The longer ANY computer is run, the worse it will perform, whether it's a PC, an apple, running XP or running Linux.
I'm basically just saying that he's basing his PC reliability on the fact that he's had it for 7 months with no problems. I say no problems, yet. And the reformat every 6 months is a generally accepted rule in the PC world due to the fact that it's probably the easiest way to get rid of all the file corruptions, and, as you said, keep it running at optimal performance.

You're also not running XP.

You're also not running XP.
Nope.

I'm not.

You didn't specify that you were talking about machines running XP - only PCs in general which, like most gross generalizations, was flatly wrong.

That particular machine doesn't have enough resources to run it.

I prefer 98se over XP anyday, quite frankly.

There aren't any features I'm missing that I need and 98se is inarguably a much more stable platform.

Which is a big contributing factor to the lack of problems with your machine.

Ok. This is true. But I'm still waiting for you to produce the post in which I called you an idiot.
If you'll reference Post # 283 in this thread he very clearly quoted the post in which you refer to him "making himself look like an idiot" which, to most reasonable humans, equates to calling him an idiot.

This isn't brain surgery....keep up!

Ok, I fixed my original post to something more, well, politically correct I guess you would call it.
