PBX Comparisn

I know the PBX topic has been rehashed over and over but I'd just like a quick comparisn between that and a JL W6v2 from those whove heard both of the subs. Heres the comparisn.

Two (2) JL Audio 12" W6v2 Subs

One (1) JL Audio 1000/1 amp bridged

Sealed box matched to specs

VS

Two (2) Powerbass Extreme Series D1 12" Subs

Two (2) Hifonics Brutus BX1500d amps

Ported box matched to specs

The only reason I'm comparing the two is because I've had the most listening experience with the W6's. I'd just like general comparisns between the two on sound quality and loudness. Overall generalizations would be nice.

Honestly i've never heard power bass subs yet... but i've heard the JL's and honestly im sure you can fidn a better system unless you are dead set on these.

i actually own a powerbass sub and let me tell u it gets loud and sound very well while doin it i have the pbx extreme 15 and a hifonics bx1000 and its louder than all of my friends systems an dthey all have either jl or kicker or fosgate systems so i would say the pbx subs would get louder than the jl but because of the ported box they wont have as good sq as the jls

Powerbass is a good looking company. I have had no experence with any of there subs but I have had some with there mids and highs. Very good 4x6's. Sound great and are nice and loud. I would go with the PBX but that is just my opinion....

hey shinobi since u live in lafayette do u know if ricky smiths, avi or kajun audio has a good mic to check my spl my friend has one but its an old whitlee and acoording to it im hitting like 175 so i know its fuked up

Where did you buy your sub at? Do you have a picture of the sub?

Hi I have sold that setup 2 extreme 15" w/ 2 bx1500d on a ported box in a extended cab f-150 and it sounds real loud plus for the buck against the jl I would choose the xtreme and they also have super warranty.

both setups would be good but the powerbass setup willl get louder. Those pbx's just get stupid loud, I have one on the way.

Thanks for the help guys. Looks like I'll be goin' with the PBX's. Found a couple for $406 shipped.

i bought it online at carudiocenter.net got it for about 250 shipped]

its in a 5.8 cu ft box tuned to 32 hrtz
