Paying for an alarm installation

I don't really want to pay $500+ to have a viper 791xv installed. I also don't have the knowledge to install it myself. Is it likely that car audio shops will install the alarm if I don't buy it from them, or will they not want to take on any unnecessay liabilty, warranty issues?

I dont know if they will install it if you dont bu yfromthem, have you shopped around, Mine was a lot cheaper, only a little over the cost of the alarm.

I looked at 3 places so far, all been $500 plus. I read some of your other posts and saw you were in the Maryland area. Is that where you had it installed? Can you recommend a good place to get it installed?

Jesus what does your 791 do? Freakin like make your car do a back flip? my lik 350HV has been quoted at $75, 120, and 199 for install. Just simple lock, unlock, alert, remote trunk etc if wanted..

I'm getting the same alarm... $150 installed... but my question is, if you don't have power locks and things like that, does the lock and unlock thing work? I really don't care about any of that stuff... I just dont want my car broken into but I was just wondering.

if you're in southern maryland i recommend you do not do business with thumpin car audio in hagerstown. those guys installed my compustar and they ****, messed my dash and headlights all up. the owner is a pretty cool guy, but the installer is a complete moron and *******. refused to even look at my car again after i just paid him 600 dollars for an installed alarm. said that it was an old car and that these things just happen.

Actually no I didnt, I had it done in Florida, sorry. PM Denim or Worlddre, they might know some places. Theres a few places on rte 40 that are semi trust worthy, I cant think of the names. Ill try to find out.
