i know that the 15" grills were too small for my 15" type-r's, and when i mean too small, i mean that the excursion would have hit the grill, and that they were not big enough diameter-wise, by about 1/2 inch.

Just use a bolt or something as a spacer between the grill and the box. will give you extra clearance

It should be ok...and the Type R wont hit it either..unless you had a different grill. Friend has a Type X with that same grill over it. Doesnt even come close to hitting it at full excursion.

I had the polished aluminum one at it was terrible. I loved the idea, but you have the screw the grill parts onto the base of it, and it is metal on metal screws, and half of them came pre cross threaded and stripped. In other words I had to glue them, then eventually throwing them away.

I sure hope I got a shitty one because I need another one.

The SE will be fine. My av12 has every bit as much of throw and it doesn't come close at all. The Type-R wouldn't come close either.

Oh, and my screws were miss threaded as well. One bar actually came off while the sub was playing! For those of you that have used them, you can understand how ridiculous that is.

i got the black one. its came with a couple scratches and i had to tweak it some so the whole thing would sit straight

they look like they would be fine, but theyre kinda crappy
