Parametric EQ + Gain

So, my setup is a 10w6v2 in a sealed box running off of a MRD-500 at 2ohms. I have a stock head unit with all the bass +treble at zero. I used a 50hz test tone and set my gaisn to the desired voltage. I also set the LPF at 80hz. Then i set my Parametric eq to 45hz center freq, 3db boost, and 2 "Q". My question is, when setting the Parametric EQ too high would my amp start clipping? Would i have to lower the gain in order to compensate with the EQ?

SO if i set the gain before i reconnect the speakers, do i have to measure voltage after also with the P EQ to the desired 31.6 v?

just screw the EQ or ur bass notes are always gonna be that note or around there, best to leave everything at 0 then set ur gain, is this P EQ built into the head unit?

I think its because my 10w6v2 is in a sealed enclosure that has around .80 ft^3, but then and recommended size is .65 .....It seems to me that it might be a whole nother problem with my newbish tuning abilities

this is how you should do it - say you wanna bump 45 hz up and you arent clipping the signal itself ..

1)measure 45db with a voltmeter with a flat setting

2) then turn down your gain

3) boost 45 hz ny however many db's you want..

4) raise the gain until the volt meter reads the same it did at a flat response. (step 1)

When u say measure 45db u mean the db at 45hz?

and is this with the speakers connected?
