Indeed. If I had an ounce of artistic talent I would too. I know I couldn't paint shit though. If you are doing it just to save money like all your other decisions are based on, then walk on. Although if you do have a knack and are good, you can possibly make that money back selling them.

Mostly to save money.

I have found some other things I kind of like for less money.

I think you can find some very nice prints for your living room, but you will most likely spend $300 or so. When you come down this summer I will show you one that I have that I like very much.

I don't think the ones I am looking at are prints, they are actually handpainted. Probably by chinese psuedo-slaves, but hand painted nonetheless.

A good deal of the money is tied up in framing, so it does not really save that much by doing it yourself. Unless you are planning on preparing the frames and the matting yourself as well.

I actually do not like picture frames, which is why I want something on a canvas.

But I did do that for an ex's mother one christmas. She painted the ceramic tile, I mounted it to hardibacker and then made the frame and stained it.

I saw some I like pretty well, but I am more into "abstract" art, I guess. I am not interested in a picture of something, rather a picture of nothing.
