That's why you practice on junk parts. Well worth the money saved by DIY, and if you get comfortable with it, you can make some money off of it. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/greedy.gif.5a53e6246569d7ab79867170f3b06629.gifNot something un willing to try myself. Not worth the risk.
a guy i work with just uses a huge IR lamp. goes up to like 800 degrees. everybody thinks you need an oven but this is not the case. even a simple heat lamp will do the trick with some powders. like a painters heat lamp, not an iguana heat lamp lolPowder coating is easy, the problem is you need an oven big enough to fit whatever you are powdercoating in. Thats the problem. I know a guy that uses an old pizza oven.
heh didnt know that, does the finish come out just like oven baked? Like all shiney?a guy i work with just uses a huge IR lamp. goes up to like 800 degrees. everybody thinks you need an oven but this is not the case. even a simple heat lamp will do the trick with some powders. like a painters heat lamp, not an iguana heat lamp lol

yea I know. I havent gotten anything done yet. A guy in my club does it, as well as alot of other shit. Works for himself. I know he can fit 4 wheels plus some more shit in his oven at the same time. I told him buy an oven big enough to fit a frame and we'll talk //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gifif you're using a glossy powder.
he knows a lot more about it than I do. i'm just a painter. i have no experience with powdercoating, but i've talked to him and asked a few questions about it, and went over his house to look at his setup because he does a lot of it for money on the side.
different powders do different things, and different powders need different prep.
just like paint
