I just got me some boss 301's from someone local. They are the alloy ones. I was thinking about having them painted black cause they would look better black on my blazer. I would paint the rims black and leave center caps chrome and get chrome lug nuts. Was wondering people opionions on painting rims and how much you think it would cost to have it done?

yeah i agree with revrider, powdercoating them is the way to go.. n i believe it would last longer that way though i could be wrong... cost wise im not sure but im betting its not cheap.

Possibly. If you have an old oven that you don't use, you can do it yourself. I know quite a few people around here that do their own powder coating. It would be cheaper, but you have the chance of messing up, if you don't prep them extremely well.
Not something un willing to try myself. Not worth the risk.

Paint will chip right off, especially if it's right over chrome.

Powdercoating the wheels will involve sandblasting all of the chrome off, powdercoating them, followed by baking them to cure.

Powdercoating is the only option, IMO. Look in your yellow pages under coatings and what not.

I have a buddy that got his 22's done for $50 apiece... But I've heard of Cali boys paying upwards of $500 to get wheels coated.
